UK-Based Requirement

To be eligible for nomination, the nominee must be based in the United Kingdom at the relevant time.

For the purposes of UKSCA, the United Kingdom includes:

England

Scotland

Wales

Northern Ireland

UK nationality or citizenship alone does not make an individual eligible. A person who lives permanently outside the UK would not qualify solely because they are a British citizen or have previously lived in the UK.

Temporary travel, holidays, creator trips, events or work outside the UK will not automatically make someone ineligible where they remain primarily UK-based.

UKSCA reserves the right to request further information where a nominee's UK-based status is unclear.

Unless a category states otherwise, the 2027 UKSCA Awards recognise work, content and achievements that have taken place between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026.

Example: YouTube Video of the Year

To be eligible for the 2027 award, the nominated video must have been published between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026.

Content published before 1 January 2026 or after 31 December 2026 will not normally be eligible for the 2027 award. The same principle applies to other categories where the award is based on work or content produced during the eligibility period.

Each UKSCA category may have its own eligibility requirements.

These requirements will be published with the relevant category information.

Where a category has specific criteria, the nominee and nominated work must satisfy those criteria in addition to the general UKSCA eligibility requirements.

UKSCA reserves the right to determine whether a nomination meets the requirements of a particular category.

Nominations may be submitted by members of the public, viewers, fans, streamers, creators, colleagues, organisations or other individuals.

You may nominate someone you believe deserves recognition.

A nominee does not need to personally know the person submitting the nomination.

UKSCA reserves the right to disregard nominations submitted dishonestly, maliciously or for the purpose of manipulating the nomination process.

Nominations for the UKSCA 2027 Awards will open in January 2027.

The official closing date will be announced by UKSCA through its official website and social media channels.

Nominations received after the published closing date will not be considered.

UKSCA reserves the right to amend the nomination opening or closing date where reasonably necessary.

All information submitted must be accurate.

Depending on the category, nominators may be asked to provide information such as:

Nominee's name or creator name

Relevant social media or streaming channel

Link to the nominated content

Date the content was published

Reasons for the nomination

Supporting information relevant to the category

UKSCA may contact the nominator or nominee if additional information or clarification is required.

More than one person may nominate the same individual or piece of content.

Multiple nominations do not guarantee that a nominee will be shortlisted.

UKSCA may identify and manage duplicate, automated or otherwise manipulated nominations.

UKSCA reserves the right to verify information provided in a nomination.

This may include checking publicly available:

Streaming profiles

YouTube channels

Social media accounts

Published content

Websites

Publication dates

Creator activity

Other information relevant to the category

UKSCA may request additional information where eligibility cannot reasonably be established.

Following the close of nominations, eligible submissions will be reviewed as part of the UKSCA selection process.

The number of nominations received automatically determines whether a nominee will be shortlisted for public voting.

UKSCA will determine the shortlist in accordance with the relevant category.

Being nominated does not guarantee a place on the shortlist.

Being nominated does not automatically mean that the nominee has accepted the nomination or agreed to attend the awards.

UKSCA may contact shortlisted nominees to confirm their eligibility and participation.

Further information may be requested from shortlisted nominees before they progress through the awards process.

UKSCA may review publicly available information about nominees and nominated content when assessing eligibility or the suitability of a nomination.

This may include publicly available information on YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Instagram, X and other relevant platforms.

UKSCA will not require nominators to provide passwords or access to private accounts.

By submitting a nomination, the nominator understands that UKSCA may use the nominee's name, creator name, nominated content details and publicly available information for purposes connected with the awards.

This may include:

UKSCA website

Social media

Shortlist announcements

Nominee announcements

Awards promotional material

Event programmes

Other awards-related communications

Any personal information will be handled in accordance with the UKSCA Privacy Policy and applicable UK data protection law.

UKSCA reserves the right to reject or remove a nomination or nominee where:

The nominee does not meet the eligibility requirements

False or misleading information has been provided

The nomination process has been deliberately manipulated

Fraudulent or automated activity has been identified

The nomination contains abusive or inappropriate material

These Terms & Conditions have been breached

If a nominee is subsequently found to be ineligible, UKSCA may remove them from consideration even after shortlisting.

UKSCA reserves the right, where reasonably necessary, to amend:

Award categories

Eligibility requirements

Nomination dates

Shortlisting procedures

Voting arrangements

Awards date

Awards venue

Any significant changes will be communicated through official UKSCA channels.

Subject to applicable law, UKSCA's decisions regarding eligibility, nominations, shortlisting and progression through the awards process are final.

Submitting a nomination does not create any entitlement to be shortlisted, become a finalist or receive an award.

Personal information collected through the nomination process will be handled in accordance with the UKSCA Privacy Policy.

Information will only be used for legitimate purposes connected with the awards and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
